Daily Sudoku Puzzle

Every day at midnight UTC, a new 9×9 Medium difficulty Sudoku puzzle is generated using that day's date as a seed. The same puzzle is shown to every player worldwide on the same date — making it a shared daily challenge you can discuss with friends or colleagues.

The puzzle resets automatically at midnight UTC each day. There is no way to access yesterday's puzzle once it has changed.

Your streak counts how many consecutive days you have completed the daily puzzle. Solve today's puzzle → streak goes up by 1. Miss a single day → streak resets to zero. Your current streak and all-time best streak are shown in the left sidebar and on the Leaderboard page.

Tip: Set a reminder on your phone each day to protect your streak. The puzzle is available all day until midnight UTC.

Yes. Click the ⏸ Pause button in the timer row, press P on your keyboard, or click "Pause" in the left sidebar. The timer stops and the board is blurred so you cannot see the puzzle. Click ▶ Resume (or press P again) to continue exactly where you left off.

Pausing is useful if you need to step away mid-solve — your time only counts while actively playing.

Hints: You have 3 hints per daily puzzle. Click 💡 Hint (or press H) to reveal one correct cell chosen randomly. Use hints strategically when completely stuck — they cannot be refilled.

Notes (pencil marks): Click ✏ Notes or press N to toggle notes mode. In notes mode, clicking a number adds a small candidate digit to the cell rather than filling it definitively. Notes are automatically cleared when a matching correct number is placed nearby. Notes mode is essential for Medium difficulty and above.

Your score is your solving time in minutes and seconds. The fewer mistakes and the faster you finish, the better your personal record. Your best daily solve time is saved to the Leaderboard page. There is no global ranking — records are personal and stored locally in your browser.

Yes — the daily puzzle is always 9×9 Medium difficulty (approximately 40% of cells pre-filled). This level is accessible for most players while still requiring careful scanning and basic technique. For harder daily challenges, try the Expert or Extreme custom puzzles on the main game page.

When you complete the daily puzzle, the win popup shows a shareable result grid using coloured emoji squares (similar to Wordle). Click 📤 Share to send it via your device's native share sheet, or copy it to clipboard to paste into any message or social media post.
